A Personal Record?

bull.gifWouldn't that be great if I could write in my journal for the day that for one or more of my exercises today I had a personal record.  Something like "today I bench pressed 300 lbs" or "I went up 10 lbs on my barbell curls".  Even though that's what I want to write it's not going to happen until I follow through on my commitment to be consistent about going to the gym.

Will I get to write it someday?  You bet I will.  Am I disappointed because I am not at that point yet?  Not really because I am realistic in setting my goals and know that I need to achieve a few goals in between until I get there.

Today I did exactly the same exercises I did yesterday.  Five minutes of warm up on the stationary bike and then 30 minutes of moderately intense exercise on the elliptical orbiter.  A couple more days of the same and I think I'll be ready to make a better commitment to my fitness plan.  I am starting to get excited about next week and hitting the weights again.

I was able to get to the gym by 5:00 and didn't have too much trouble getting up.  It was close though.  My alarm went off at 4:30 and I just stretched a little before I swung my legs out of bed.  Apparently the one stretch took about 15 minutes cause my feet didn't touch the floor until 4:45.

It's been a few hours since I was at the gym and I am feeling real good.  I am not sore but have that nice tight feeling.

More of the online trainers should have their clients spend a couple weeks doing less weights and more cardio.  I think it is good for the body and the mind.

I have been thinking about what I am going to do next week and like I had said before I need some variety.  That variety is going to be implementing some of the routines in No Bull Bodybuilding that I just got hold of from Marc David.  From what I've read it looks pretty good.

I'm getting pumped to get going on it.

Have a great workout,
Jerry
