Something Is Wrong

wrong way.jpgSince the last time I have made a post I have been to the gym one time.  That visit was to do several sets of heavy exercises.  These are good for muscle growth and something I usually enjoy doing.  Especially after a week of doing high rep and intense exercises.  Here is what I did for my heavy workout.

Squats
Dead Lifts
BB Bench Presses
BB Military Presses
BB Bent Over Rows
Calfs
Abs

Except for the calfs and abs they all consisted of 3-sets, up to 8 reps to failure, and about a minute rest between sets.
Although I did okay I could feel that something was wrong.  Actually there are three things that are wrong.

First:  I have been doing the same exercises for about 2 years.  I am bored with them.  The solution is to start adding some variety to my exercises and I am going to do that by implementing some of the routines from the Top Trainers for about 2 week intervals.

Second:  I have not been eating right and I have known that.  Again I have been eating just about the same thing for a couple of years.  Solution, take some of the information from the Top Fitness Trainers and use parts of their diet plans.  But still keep it simple.

Third:  Although 240lbs on a 6'5" frame is not bad if you are in good shape, I think, or know, that it is 10-15 pounds too much for the shape I am in.  Right now I feel sluggish and unmotivated.  Even though I agree with the "experts" that the best way to accomplish fat loss is by a weight program and interval training, I think for me I need to do something different.  I am going to slack off the weight a little bit and spend the next five days doing just straight cardio for a minimum of 30 minutes a day.  It will be a great motivator for me.

This will, I think, confirm that what is good for me may not work for you, and what works for you may not be right for me.  We'll see how things are by the end of the week and if I have found my motivation.

Have a good workout,
Jerry
